Paul Divjak studierte an der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHdK) und promovierte an der Universität Wien zum Doktor der Philosophie. Er ist transdisziplinär in den Bereichen Literatur, Film, Fotografie, Musik, Performance, Installation und Olfaktorik tätig. Aktuell forscht er gemeinsam mit Jeanette Müller und einem Team aus internationalen Künstler:innen und Wissenschafter:innen am Angewandte Interdisciplinary Lab, Universität für Angewandte Kunst Wien im Rahmen des FWF/PEEK-Projekts SENSING LIVING SYSTEMS zu Sinnes-wahrnehmung und Systembewusstsein.

Paul Divjak is a writer, conceptual and olfactory artist, and cultural theorist currently living in Vienna, Austria. He studied at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) and is holding a Ph.D. from the University of Vienna. His artwork has appeared at AIL, Vienna, Art Center Songkhla, Künstlerhaus Bregenz, Vögele Kultur Zentrum, Pfäffikon, Galerie Gugging, Prague Quadrennial, Kiasma, Helsinki, Kunsthalle Wien, Zacheta Gallery, Warschau, Museum der Moderne, Salzburg among others. His films have been premiered at film and media festivals and cinémathèques around the globe. Divjaks written word has been published in books, magazines & newspapers such as wina, werk, bauen + wohnen, and Der Standard. With the artistic science project SENSING LIVING SYSTEMS, funded by the Austrian Science Fund (PEEK), he is currently researching sensory perception and system awareness together with Jeanette Mueller and a team of international artists and scientists at the Angewandte Interdisciplinary Lab, University of Applied Arts Vienna.
Paul Divjak è scrittore, artista concettuale e olfattivo, compositore di musica elettronica e teorico culturale. Che attualmente vive e lavora a Vienna. Le sue opere sono state da poco esposte AIL, Vienna, Art Center Songkhla, Künstlerhaus Bregenz, Vögele Kultur Zentrum, Pfäffikon, Galerie Gugging, Quadrenniale di Praga, alla Kunsthalle Wien, alla Zacheta Gallery, a Warschau e al Museum der Moderne di Salisburgo. I suoi film sono stati proiettati al Filmfestival di Rotterdam, all’ Helsinki Media Art Festival, al Deutsches Filmmuseum di Amburgo e al Festwochen di Vienna. I suoi testi sono stati pubblicati in riviste e quotidiani come wina, werk, bauen + wohnen e Der Standard. Attualmente sta conducendo ricerche sulla percezione sensoriale e sulla consapevolezza del sistema insieme a Jeanette Müller e a un team di artisti e scienziati internazionali presso l’Angewandte Interdisciplinary Lab dell’Università di Arti Applicate di Vienna, nell’ambito del progetto SENSING LIVING SYSTEMS, finanziato dal Fondo Scientifico Austriaco (FWF/PEEK).
